Norm Todd, owner of Firwood Nursery, has been growing and selling rhododendrons for over 30 years.

Sharon Joseph has been doing garden maintenance and sales for Firwood Nursery for about ten years.

The nursery is retail only, no wholesale. We grow rhodos from cuttings of the existing garden stock as well as buying from wholesale growers. Located on the Todds' 5 acre residential lot, the nursery has a propagation house, a wintering-over house and an actual house. A friendly sheltie may greet you when you arrive. Beautiful fir trees, cedars and arbutus form the canopy for the extensive rhodo collection. Native ferns, hardy cyclamen, snowdrops, magnolias and other companion plants illustrate a well-layered garden.

Unlike most general nurseries we carry rhodos all year. As a specialty grower we offer expertise in selecting and growing rhodos. For instance, not all rhodos need shade; many varieties will tolerate or even thrive in full sun in the temperate Victoria BC climate, given the correct amount of water.
